The Arch

Origin: VIC SA Premiere

Kingston, Jamaica; 1962. For Charles, Terrance, and Margaret - the humble public servants of Station J, a communication outpost of the British Secret Service - the new day brings a familiar routine: petty office politics, filing, and vast quantities of tea (milk, three sugars). But when a legendary Double-O agent bursts through their door, bearing tidings of dastardly deceptions and pernicious plots, the staff of Station J suddenly find themselves thrust centre-stage in the climax of a super-spy thriller. With the clock ticking inexorably down to doomsday, it’s up to Station J’s trio of would-be secret agents to untangle a web of international intrigue, engage in a game of high-stakes espionage… and save the ruddy world!

    PRODUCER

Social Club Productions is a comedy theatre company from Melbourne created by Kieran Bullock for the purpose for creating high quality, high energy theatre productions. Their first show was the West End smash The 39 Steps, which was performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2016. Their first original play was The Ides of March, which enjoyed sell-out seasons at the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Adelaide Fringe festivals. Station J is the company's second original play.

Comedy and entertainment are at the heart of all Social Club productions - a return to the days of old where people went to the theatre to be entertained. Much like going to the cinema or watching television. Theatre as entertainment. Somewhat old school. As relevant as ever.

Previous praise for Station J - An M16 Comedy

★★★★1/2 “Exciting, intriguing, and hysterical Station J: An MI6 Comedy is a jolly good show. It features the type of sly humour you don’t see many others attempt and even less manage to pull off, all wrapped up in a loving parody which doesn’t rely on the same tropes you’ve seen lampooned countless times before. Station J: An MI6 Comedy is a refreshing and witty adventure for Queen and Country!” - Kyle McGrath - https://www.lilithia.net/stationj-an-mi6-comedy/
