LOCKER ROOM TALK

Presented by Holden Street Theatres Inc.

Feb 13 - March 22

The Arch

Origin: SA - SA and Fringe Premiere

Genre: Theatre

Powerful, provocative ★★★★★ verbatim political theatre about language. Harmless banter or something more?

What do men really say when women aren't in the room?

Inspired by Donald Trump's infamous “locker room talk” defence, this extraordinary piece of verbatim theatre takes audiences inside the conversations of men, exploring masculinity, power, language and the words we use when we think nobody is listening.

Drawn from real conversations with men, Locker Room Talk brings a compelling collection of voices, personalities and perspectives to the stage. Through humour, honesty, contradiction and confrontation, the characters reveal the complexities of contemporary masculinity and the often-unspoken attitudes that shape our relationships.

At times hilarious, at times deeply uncomfortable, this is not a play about attacking men. It is an invitation to listen, question and consider the power of everyday language.

Blurring the lines between harmless banter and something far more consequential, Locker Room Talk challenges audiences to consider what words really mean, who they affect and whether the things we say matter more than we think.

Bold, compelling and fiercely relevant, Locker Room Talk is theatre that sparks conversation long after the curtain falls.
