The Graduate Season is an opportunity for Graduates from both Adelaide College of the Arts (ACArts)and the Flinders University Drama Centre to perform a play or plays of their choice in the professional arena and to launch themselves into the industry and enabling them to create their own networks. We also hope it will encourage new companies and associations to form.

Applications are open to any individual or group from either college provided that the final production is made up of 80% of people who graduated in either or 2008, 2009,2010 and/or who will graduate in 2011 from either or both of these establishments.

Companies may engage professional artists or arts workers to assist however the selection will be based on the graduates and the play.

The production/s will be presented as co-productions with Holden Street Theatres and we will be looking for the following criteria:

A full length play with an Interval of a minimum of 20 minutes or two or more short plays presented as a package with an Interval/break of 20 minutes.

Ensemble pieces are preferred with 4 or more actors.

It is preferred that the work has not been presented in South Australia in the last two years and a re-staging of a production will not be considered.

The Production must be performed outside of the Adelaide Fringe and be performed a minimum of 12 nights over three weeks.

Holden Street will provide:

The Studio or The Arch (depending on dates, availability and suitability)

Three weeks full time rehearsal space Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm

A basic Lighting and Sound package free of charge, including use of the in-house digital projector and stand-up piano.

Administration support including Budget and Contract templates.

Publicity support and arrange interviews.

Media releases and invitations to opening night including complimentary wine for guests.

Email-outs and newsletters to subscribers.

Full page on the website detailing cast and production.

Public Liability Insurance Coverage

The Graduates will be asked to provide:

Cast and Crew.

Front of House personnel including ushers and Box Office.

All marketing material.

Sets, Props and Costumes.

Income from tickets will cover the cost of performance rights,advertising and printing and any profit will be split.

Please note Holden Street will run the venue and supply a Venue Manager, fully operated and staffed bar(not negotiable), Cleaning and parking and will provide training in all areas of Front of House including Box office and ticketing.
