Holden Street Theatres' Arts Park
In December 2020 the Holden Street Theatres family grew with the addition of 32 Holden Street.
Originally the All Saints Anglican Church Rectory the additional building expanded Holden Street Theatres to become the Holden Street Theatres, Arts Park; a creation hub comprising of the two main stage performance spaces The Studio and The Arch, The Box Bar a bar that can double as a relaxed performance space, plus three smaller spaces, Judy's, Ruby's and Vonni's, suitable as creation spaces, rehearsal spaces, non-conventional, intimate and experimental performance spaces, exhibition rooms and offices that can be let to artists, or used for production or just to meet.
It also includes The Barbara Hardy Garden, an outdoor space in the sunken garden suitable for performances and events as well as a space for Virtual Connections that can be used to host meeting, collaborations or even performances all around the globe. There is also a Kitchen for patrons and actors to re-energise, a Library where books can be read and swapped to ripen the knowledge of local culture and the arts.
One of the most important aspects of this new adventure is that we will support working parents to balance their artistic and parenting roles by providing a Family Room; a comfortable and safe environment for children to hang out and relax in whilst their parents or carers are creating or performing. The family room is also suitable for babysitters or carers to wait with their children if need be.
