'What happens when you’re forced to reconsider your verdict two years after the trial?'

Anna and Mitchell were members of a 'hung jury' for a murder trial. But during the trial they became more than just acquaintances…two years later they reunite in a luxury hotel. What happens is beyond their expectations.

Reasonable Doubt delves into the nature of our different perceptions of reality as well as what is really true in the sphere of human relationships. The audience become voyeurs to this search for redemption mixed with the very human need to be loved for who we are, despite our flaws.

It is a fast-paced thriller about lies, betrayal, guilt and the desperate search for truth, justice, honour and courage in the face of human desires that could lead to a person’s ultimate downfall.

After a sell-out season at the Bakehouse Theatre in 2018 and by popular demand, STARC Productions makes their debut at Holden Street Theatre this November with their exciting and thought provoking re-staging of REASONABLE DOUBT. Written by one of Australia's most brilliant award-winning contemporary playwrights, Suzie Miller (who has recently experienced massive success on both Broadway and the West End) Reasonable Doubt has been successfully performed in London, Edinburgh and New York to rave reviews and acclaim.

'Reasonable Doubt’ is a challenging trial drama without a courtroom and erotic drama without a bedroom. It sizzles with passion and moral dilemma…and makes us question how we might act in similar circumstances…' New York Times

'Urgent and compelling, you will be emotionally exhilarated from start to finish.' The Guardian

'Miller's script is a masterwork of erotic uncertainty' Sydney Morning Herald

'Reasonable Doubt’ is that rare play that's a think piece, but it is also titillating...The play gets more and more brilliant as it races towards its maddening, thought-provoking conclusion.' Stage Whispers

‘Miller’s crisp quick-fire dialogue– reminiscent of Mamet and Ravenhill, keeps the narrative moving and the audience guessing which makes Reasonable Doubt a treat’. Theatre Tours International

A momentary lapse of judgement does not an evil person make…or does it? Come along to this thriller of an erotic courtroom drama and decide for yourself.

Reasonable Doubt is directed by Tony Knight and features Marc Clement and Stefanie Rossi. Sound & Lighting Design by Sarah Gooda.
