THE TROMBONE GUY'S STORY

Presented by Teater Kef

#

Photographer: Uros Hocevar/Kolektiff

The multiple-award winning performer Elias Faingersh shares his perspective on family life and on his family in particular in a hilarious stand up, framed by the magical sounds of his trombone and loop-machines.

On a deeper level, this is a show about what it means to be a son and what it means to be a father, about the similarities between birth and death, about the cyclicity of life and the acceptance of this cyclicity, which is something you might call wisdom.

Bonus moments: stories about a Jewish grandma, jokes in other languages that are not lost in translation and a musically illustrated crazy sex scene.

Tickets available through HSTBO the Holden Street Theatres Box Office and adelaidefringe.com.au

Artist Biography

Elias Faingersh, a graduate of both the Malmö Musik Högskola and The Manhattan School of Music, is a Swedish virtuoso trombone player whose trademark is a unique synthesis of music and theater. His critically acclaimed solo show “Trombone Magic” was performed at such venues as the Royal Danish Opera, The Berlin Philharmonic and the Congress Hall of Riga. Faingersh, named “The Golden Trombone of Europe” by the critics, is a participant and award winner of countless musical and theatrical festivals around the world.

Elias‘ solo projects – “Hamlet: Drama for the Trombone and Orchestra“ (created with the Malmo Symphony Orchestra and played, among others, at the Shakespearean Festival at the Kroneborg Castle in Helsingor), “Romeo Dreaming“ (created with the Kroumata percussion ensemble), “Ugly Duckling“ – have been broadcasted on prime time in all North European countries (including SVT1 and SVT2 channels).

In 2012, Elias Faingersh and Keren Klimovsky have co-founded Teater KEF, based in Malmö, Sweden. Teater KEF is known by performances where different genres and different media merge and by the leading - dramatic and comical - role of music. In the past years Teater KEF won awards and recognitions from more than a dozen international theater festivals in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including (but not limited to):
