The Archive of Educated Hearts

Lion House Theatre, Joanne Hartstone, and Holden Street Theatres present

This is a production picture of an intricate set with a dull yellow light emanating a soft, warm glow across piles of ambiguous antique and personal items filling the close space. Distinguishable is a gilded framed mirror, an antique skeleton clock, brass scales, family photographs from across eras, books, maps, cards, vessels, a vase with white roses, and shelves with ambiguous bric-a-brac. In the blurred mirror reflection there are shelves stacked with unknown items next to a wooden door.

“For as long as I can remember I have harboured an inarticulate heart…”

Scrawled diary entries and dog-eared photo albums unfold to reveal a delicate glimpse into the fragments of absolute joy & incomprehensible heartbreak that make up a lifetime. You're invited to step inside this unique immersive storytelling installation to discover honest & personal accounts of kindness, courage, friendship & family.

An award-winning production crafted from true stories of families facing breast cancer, written and performed by Casey Jay Andrews.

A young girl stands in the centre of the frame with her back facing us. Her hair is in pigtails and she wears an old-fashioned, patterned smock. She is immersed in a landscape of large clouds overlayed with mist, speckles and circles, it is a dreamy landscape.
