JasFair and Holden Street Theatres present

ADELAIDE FRINGE REVIEWS 2019

"★★★★ 1/2 - Jasmine Fairbairn and Clayton Storey have great chemistry together" - The Adelaide Show

"★★★★... the script leaves no unanswered questions, it definitely makes you think long after you leave the theatre" - The Advertiser

"Fairbairn’s script depicts realistically the tension between couples, with things said in haste or anger that cannot be easily taken back" - InDaily

Undertow, the latest production from JasFair, explores the confusing and conflicting intricacies of love.

Relationships are tricky: fights, make-ups, break-ups - who hasn’t had things left unsaid or undone lurking beneath their relationship?

Winner of 10 awards in QLD Theatre Festival circuit including Best Play, Best Original Script, Best Actor and Best Director Undertow is guaranteed to make you laugh, cry and feel uncomfortable.

Writer's Note

"It's a slice of life, really" Undertow's writer and actor Jasmine Fairbairn says. "I wanted people to feel like they were peeking into a living room window and spying on a couple with everyday problems. Who doesn't want to know how other people handle the things we all have to deal with?".

Praise for Undertow

"Undertow has many strengths. Fairbairn and Storey have an easy chemistry." - Faces of BNE

‘This is beautifully written piece that brings a forensic scalpel to a marriage at a moment in crisis. The two actors portray a couple who are each desperately fighting for their own identity and equally striving to retain their deep relationship. They do this with accuracy, humour, anger, frustration and finally love in fine performances from Jasmine Fairbairn as Rebecca and Clayton Storey as James’ - Margery Forde
