Sydney, NSW 18 November, 2011: ‘One Flesh’, the new Australian play written by graduating National Institute of Dramatic Arts student Micharne Cloughley and produced by Makayla Bishop, will have its Australian Premiere in association with the Holden Street Theatres at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in March 2012. Love, faith and reality collide in 'One Flesh'. The play throws the Book of Esther into contemporary Australian suburbia. The story brings together two very different women, in love with the same man. They challenge the rules that are breaking each other. More than hearts will be broken. 'One Flesh' was written and developed at NIDA, with several intense workshops. It gives a voice to young unmarried Christian women, a voice rarely heard in any medium. Gender discrimination continues in conservative values. The reality of inequality is challenged from the inside out in 'One Flesh'. ‘One Flesh’ will premiere 5th – 11th of March 2012 at the Prince Alfred Room in the Adelaide Town Hall.
