HST EDINBURGH FRINGE AWARD
It is on again and once again we will be presenting the Award at the prestigious Scotsman Awards Ceremony at the Assembly Rooms The EdFringe runs from the 6th-30th of August in the vibrant, historic city of Edinburgh. It's the biggest arts festival in the world, with something for everyone: theatre, comedy, music, dance, exhibitions and much, much more. In fact, it's the number-one tourist attraction in the whole of Britain Every year thousands of performers take to a multitude of stages all over Edinburgh to present shows for every taste. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, musicals, operas, music, exhibitions and events. This year is the 64th year of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and is the biggest and most exciting line-up to date comprising a staggering 2,453 shows. With the number of shows increasing by 17 percent on last year’s total. We aim to see around 200 - 250 shows. In 2010 we awarded "Heroine For Breakfast" by Philip Stokes the tour and in 2009 I chose The Tailor of Inverness by Matthew Zajak for Adelaide Audiences to see Both shows ended with award nominations from The Fringe and won The Advertiser award for Theatre. Both recieved 5 star reviews and ended in SOLD OUT seasons. I hope to find another amazing piece of theatre for the 2011 Adelaide Fringe. Check out the Fringe on www.edfringe.com and please send in suggestions of what you'd like me to see. you never know it could be the start of something wonderful....
