The Arch

The Arch is a classic style proscenium arch theatre with a thrust stage and a capacity seating of 144.

The Arch features fixed old style, leather flip-up chairs donated by the Union Hall with other donations of equipment, lights and sets from very generous people like the ADT, The Odeon Theatre, Therry Dramatic Society, AIT Arts and Thebarton Theatres.

The Arch is in a separate building and offers not only intimacy but has a completely different feel to The Studio and The Box thus lending itself to formal presentations as well as theatre and concert style productions.

Built in 1859 it is one of the oldest buildings in South Australia and as a result we are happily working under the close eye of Heritage SA.

We are committed to renovating the building without losing the classic church feel and will be taking influences from theatres around Australia and the United Kingdom.

The original stained glass windows, beautiful high wooden ceiling and commemoration plaques have been made a feature of the theatre space and we welcome people to just look through and soak up the history of this incredible building.

Shows can run simultaneously in the two buildings making the complex perfect for Festivals, Expos, Conferences and Gala Events.

The Arch shares the public facilities with the other theatres but has its own dressing rooms and box office.

Copies of the stage plans with dimensions for all three spaces can be obtained by contacting the venue on +61 8 8223 1450
