Holden Street Winner of 2008 Adelaide Fringe Award!

On the 16th March, the Adelaide Fringe held a red carpet event at the Adelaide Town Hall to honour some of the most exciting local, national and international talent at this years Fringe. 14 Awards were presented to Performers, Visual Artists and Venues from Most Shameless Self Promotion to the Spirit of the Fringe Award.

Holden Street Theatres is proud to annouce we are the winner of the Fringe Award for Best Performing Arts Venue.

"It is no mean feat to win an Adelaide Fringe Award competition is ferocious, judges are razor sharp and decisions aren't easy. All nominees and winners should be exceptionally pleased with the work they have created" Says Fringe Director Christie Anthoney.

Venues were assessed on various criteria, including

- Fringe Factor (the work put in to transforming the venue  into a Fringe hub)  
- Team Vibe (friendliness & helpfulness of staff, ability  to provide information about the program and the venue’s  services  
- Programming  
- Effort invested in promoting the Fringe to visitors, and  generating a Fringe vibe  
- Safety, accessibility and comfort of the  venue

Thanks to the Patrons, Artists, Staff, Volunteers and Families and all those who talked about the shows and spread the word.

HOLDEN STREET SCORES MULTIPLE NOMINATIONS IN ADELAIDE CRITICS CIRCLE AWARDS

Shows from our Directors Choice Season '07 have been nominated for prestigious Adelaide Critics Circle Awards.

The awards will be presented by visiting film and theatre stars Brenda Blethyn and Sigrid Thornton at the Bakehouse Theatre on Monday 3 December.
