Elizaveta walks on stage, looking as if she has just drifted out of the pages of a nineteenth-century novel.
Petite, with a dancer’s physique, her delicately classic features are the stuff that inspires artists to pick up their brush. One would expect her to sit down at her piano and offer lovely, romantic ballads, and she doesn’t disappoint. What is unexpected, though, is the amazingly dynamic vocal range that Elizaveta possesses. With the ability to go from soft and vulnerable to powerfully operatic within the same song, Elizaveta’s fresh, unique style is mesmerizing.
Elizaveta has a strong songwriting style, with the unique ability to blend classical, jazz and pop/soul sensibilities into her original songs, creating a very distinct sound. There is a timeless quality to her work; imbued with a classic sort of charm, it is also undoubtedly contemporary. To coin a new term, her songs are ‘nouveaux standards’.
When Elizaveta performs, she establishes a tangible emotional connection with her listeners, who find themselves drawn in by her intimate set, only to be left awestruck by a surprise operatic rendition of an aria or an original song.
Her lyrics are poetic and emotionally direct, and with the recent addition of acoustic guitar to her instrumental repertoire Elizaveta’s performance has developed an even more dynamic impact.
