Leo Bailey is a great artist, a national living treasure whose work sells for tens of thousands of dollars.
When Therese, a young motor-mouth of a woman straight from prison takes a live-in job looking after him she finds him living alone, in filth. Hes an eccentric, vitriolic, cheeky, witty, ageing, decaying alcoholic with an ego the size of Sydney and a reputation to match. Therese takes on the challenge of taming this tiger, whilst being watched closely by his daughter Margot, the only member of his family who will speak to him. This is a Herculean tussle of worthy opponents. It is filled with humour, sharp wit and fury. At times achingly tender, at times filled with despair it is a whirlwind ride through Leos fractured messy world, a ride which storms towards a final and moving moment.
